Cessco's Accudose Fire Ant Control System may be used in the control of fire ants in playgrounds, parks, woodlots, golf courses and building lots, lawns, exterior plantscapes, pasture or rangeland, and non-crop areas.
Start spraying prior to inserting probe into mound and continue spraying for the entire mound treatment. Push probe into the mound, treating continuously, until resistance to further insertion is felt (contact with firm dirt), indicating that the probe has reached the bottom of the nest.
Seen from above, fire ant mounds are roughly circular. Visually divide the mounds into 4 quadrants and the mound center.
Probe insertions and treatment should be made in the center of each quadrant and final probe in the center of the mound.
Holding probe about 1 inch above the mound, begin dispensing Cessco Fire Ant Formula and immediately insert probe slowly into the mound.
Only one injection site is necessary on a mound 6 inches or less. The injection in a 6 inches or smaller mound should be for 5 seconds. Larger mounds should be treated in several injections on the basis of size - 10 seconds total for mounds 6-12 inches diameter, 15 seconds total for mounds 12-18 inches diameter, and 20 seconds minimum for mounds greater than 18 inches in diameter. On large mounds, treatment may be extended by 1 to 2 additional seconds to insure that aerosol formulation reaches all cavities within the mound or colony. Re-examine the mound after 7 days and re-treat if any activity is apparent. Look for new mounds in the immediate vicinity and treat these as well in order to prevent inefficiency from mound migration.
